Course details

Introduction to nanoscience and nanotechnology. State-of-art and perspectives.
Nanomaterials and nanostructures ( 1-D , 2-D , 3-D ):
nanoparticles, nanopowders, nanocages, nanoporous materials, quantum dots, nanotubes, nanowires and nanofibers , dendrimers, thin films.
Bottom-up and top-down approaches.
Preparation techniques: chemical synthesis, physical processes, post-synthesis chemical-physical treatments.
Properties and applications of carbon nanomaterials (fullerenes, graphenes, nanotubes, nanodiamonds ) and oxides. Nanomaterials for sensing. Nanomaterials for DSSC and plastic solar cells.
