Objectives

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The aim of the course on "Biomaterials", is to support a student to understand a paper in English reporting a subject in the field of biophysics, biochemistry and biological physical chemistry with special reference to the quantitative aspect of the interaction Biomaterials - cells and/or living matter. Also to get oriented within the main processes involving biomaterials such as the bioadhesion, the targeting of injectable microvetors and the recognition of cless/tissues with pathologies, the efficiency of the targeting and of the delivery of the drug loaded in the vector. To understand all implications concerning the laboratory experiences carried out by using the research instrumentation.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
Ability to conceive critically and autonomously a conceptual iter, built on the use of the recent literature and to spot the novelties which impact the most in the field of the Biomaterials.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
At the end of the course the Student is asked to apply the basic concepts of the colloidal and macromolecular science to the phenomena occurring at the biointerface.

MAKING JUDGEMENTS:
Development of the ability of a critical evaluation of the results reported in paper or with respect to the results obtained in the laboratory experiences, making connections and establishing conceptual relationships.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
At the end of del course it is requested the ability to report and discuss results in usual modalities of presentation used by the teacher (power point), ordered and easy to read.
Alla fine del corso si richiede la capacità di di portare e discutere i risultati mediante una presentazione normalmente utilizzata dal docente, ordinata e facilmente consultabile da studenti.

LEARNING SKILLS:
At the end of the course it is request the capacity to manage the literature material (scientific and dissemination papers, reports,...), and to extract the needed information and organizing the logical links.
