Objectives

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The aim of the class is to let the students read the modern literature on the subject of the theories of the fundamental interactions with a special focus on the results coming out of the LHC collider in CERN.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

Students should have a deep knoledge of the most important theories describing the fundamental interactions. Furthermore they should have a good knowledge oft he state of the art in this fiels with special reference to the so called standard model. The level of knowledge is checked with written and oral exams.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:

Student should be able to identify the key elements of a complex physical problem and should be able to model it using the necessary approximations. They should also be able t
