The Call for Applications for the 2025/2026 University of Rome "Tor Vergata" PhD Program in Physics is open.
The deadline for applications is 6 June 2025 at 12:00 (noon). The official page is available here.
The available PhD student positions in Physics are as follows:
- 5 PhD fellowships funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) for research on any subject in line with the PhD Course in Physics
- 4 PhD fellowships funded by Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) for "research in nuclear, subnuclear, astro-particle and fundamental interactions physics, which also involve technological research and development relevant to the activities in these sectors".
- 1 PhD fellowship funded by Centro Ricerche Enrico Fermi (CREF) for research on "Applied Nuclear Physics and Experimental Developments"
- 2 PhD fellowships funded by Telespazio (a Leonardo and Thales company) for research on
- "Study of automation techniques based on artificial intelligence for satellites and space exploration missions",
- "Study and characterization of
quantum communication protocols for satellite missions"
- 2 PhD fellowships (subject to timely availability of funding) funded by the MUR FIS 2 project "Quantum systems as gravitational sources: nonclassical spacetime in informational terms" PI Dr. Flaminia Giacomini
- 2 PhD positions WITHOUT financial support. NON EU foreign students should be able to prove financial support during the entire period (three years) of the PhD course
- 1 PhD positions WITHOUT financial support for foreign students only, sponsored by their national education and research system and/or able to prove financial support during the entire period (three years) of the PhD course
Well qualified and motivated candidates, regardless of their nationality, age and gender are invited to submit their applications including CV and research project. Both are compulsory, the latter should not exceed 6 pages including bibliography. Applicants are invited to express their interest on one or more of the above available positions in their applications (e.g. in the proposed research project) and/or, if admitted, at the oral interview.
All applicants, both Italian and foreign, are required to pay an application fee of 35 euros, for each submitted application by June 6th, 2025.
