On 9 November 2022, at the Research Area of the CNR in Bologna, Dr. Mattia Scagliotti was
awarded with the Nobili Prize (named after Prof. Dario Nobili) which aims to reward the research doctorate theses, discussed in the year 2021, that have demonstrated results of particular scientific excellence or strategic relevance in the national and international context, in the field of Chemistry-Physics of Materials, Micro-nanoelectronics, Renewable Energies.

Dr. Mattia Scagliotti, who carried out a research doctorate at the Physics Department of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" discussing his doctoral thesis entitled "Nanostructured materials for photodetector applications" in 2021 (the abstract can be consulted in the 2021 Journal of the Physics department) discussed  in 2021, under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Salvato and Prof. Paola Castrucci, has been the only winner of the Prize.

At the award ceremony, Dr. Mattia Scagliotti was invited to give a 30 minutes-long brief presentation on the most innovative aspects of his doctoral thesis, focusing on the scientific and applicative interest of his results, and he received many questions and expressions of interest towards his work even after his presentation.
