European Researchers' Night

The Physics Department of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and the INFN section Roma2 for the European Researchers' Night 2022

Date: 30 September -1 October, 18.00-23.00

Experiments and stands at the Città dell'Altra Economia, Testaccio

How particle physics is combined with the physics of space. The researchers of the INFN section of Rome "Tor Vergata" and of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" will illustrate the research activities protagonist of the last thirty years of astro-particle physics that have particularly distinguished the section and the department of Physics of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" from their birth to today. The most important stages will be retraced, from the first pioneering missions on a balloon to the current missions on satellite and space station, and an overview of the experiments of the future. We will also talk about gravitational waves, Dark Matter, neutrino and particle physics. elementary, the Higgs boson and the cutting-edge research that we conduct in international laboratories such as CERN, the Gran Sasso National Laboratory, the FERMI lab in Chicago, the Jefferson Lab, etc.
