The Inauguration of the Study Courses in Physics and Materials Sciences for the Academic Year 2022-2023 took place.

The ceremony, held on 13 December 2022 in the Aula Magna "Gismondi" of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", has warmly introduced dozens and dozens of new students enrolled.

After the welcome from Prof. Pasquale Mazzotta, Director of the Department of Physics of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", and having received your welcome kit containing the gadgets of the Department of Physics and PLS-Physics , the students had the opportunity to attend a brief introduction to the activities envisaged by the study courses chosen by the coordinator of the Course of Physics Prof. Francesco Berilli and Course of Materials Sciences Prof. Claudio Goletti, as well as a taste of some of the the many issues that they will be able to address in their journey thanks to two interesting talks by Prof. Amedeo Balbi (with «The physics of habitable worlds») and Dr. Giulia Serrano (with «The science of materials for quantum applications: a journey through molecular chemistry, magnetism and the physics of superconductors").

During the ceremony, on the occasion of the fifth edition of the initiative, the Stanev Prize was also awarded (with an introduction by Prof. Nazario Tantalo) to Dr. Tommaso Canneti who illustrated to those present the themes of his winning master's degree thesis with his talk «Bubbles in the primordial universe».
