Tommaso Giovannini

RTDB in FIS03, 02/B2

I studied Chemical Physics at the University of Pisa (2010-2015, 110/110 cum laude) and the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa, Italy (2010-2015, fully granted scholarship).

I obtained a Ph.D. in Methods and Models for Molecular Sciences from the Scuola Normale Superiore (Nov. 2015 - Jan. 2019, cum laude), where I developed theoretical and computational methods for studying molecular systems embedded in external environments, from liquid phase to plasmonic susbtrates.

From Feb. 2019 to Jan. 2021, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim (Norway), where I developed novel multiscale quantum embedding models for light-matter interaction in complex systems.

From Feb. 2021 to June 2024, I was a junior assistant professor (RTDA) in Physical Chemistry at the Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa.

Since June 2024, I have been an assistant professor (tenure-track - RTDB) in Theoretical Physics of Condensed Matter at the Department of Physics, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy.
