The Italian Intelligence Society (Socint) has announced that Chiara Calascibetta,
 PhD student at the Physics department of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, is
one of the winners of the second edition of the Socint-G Research Award. This
recognition rewards the three best Italian PhD theses in the areas of
Mathematics, Theoretical Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. The prizes, worth 10,000 euros 
each, represent the most significant economic recognition ever awarded in Italy
in this area.  The award ceremony took place in Rome at the Senate of the
Republic – Sala Caduti di Nassirya, on 23 January 2025.

The researcher obtained her PhD in Physics at the University of Rome Tor Vergata
last December under the direction of Prof. Luca Biferale, full professor
of Theoretical Physics, Mathematical Models and Methods of the Physics Department and
Dr. Massimo Cencini (CNR-ISC). His thesis work, entitled "Active control of Lagrangian particle
transport in complex and turbulent flows", was selected among 101 projects from 33 Italian universities by a jury of industry experts.
