Luigi Vesce is an Assistant Professor and has obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in Experimental Physics of Matter and Electronics. He teaches Computer Science (Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine), Physics (Health Professions Degree Programs and Foundation Course), Nanoelectronics (Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering), and Microelectronics (Master’s Degree in Physics), and serves as tutor for the Physics 1 Laboratory (Bachelor’s Degree in Physics). He also lectures in PhD schools, Master’s programs, and international summer schools on renewable energy, photovoltaics, thin-film technologies, and sustainability.

He earned his PhD in Telecommunications Engineering and Microelectronics from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata,” contributing to the development of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC). Previously, he obtained his Master’s Degree with honors in Telecommunications Engineering, focusing on advanced optical communication systems. Dr. Vesce is certified as a Quality Management Systems Manager and is registered with the Order of Engineers of the Province of Rome.

His main research activities at the Centre for Hybrid and Organic Solar Energy (CHOSE), the Department of Electronic Engineering, and the Department of Physics concern printable electronics, the scaling-up of next-generation organic and perovskite photovoltaic technologies, thin-film deposition, superconductivity, Josephson junctions, gravitational waves, and acoustic waves. Among his most significant applied achievements is the development of a pilot line for large-scale DSSC panel production (10,000 m²/year), for which he served as project manager. Dr. Vesce is Principal Investigator and collaborator in numerous national and European research projects.

He has participated as invited speaker, keynote speaker, speaker, and session chairman at more than 45 leading international conferences and is a member of scientific and organizing committees for events in Europe, Asia, and North America. He is the author of more than 100 scientific and outreach publications, editorials, and articles in high-impact journals, one book chapter, and serves on the editorial boards of prominent international journals.

He collaborates with universities, research centers, and international industries, promoting the development of innovative and sustainable photovoltaic technologies, with particular focus on DSSCs, perovskite solar cells, and printable organic devices for indoor and outdoor applications.
