It is with great pleasure that we would like to draw your attention to the “1st Mondragone Frontiers of Astronomy Series” workshop to be held at the beautiful Villa Mondragone (Monte Porzio Catone) and Frascati, an historical town just outside Rome (Italy), on May 18-20 2022. The theme of the workshop is “Latest Advances in X-ray Spectroscopy and Polarimetry”.
The topic of this workshop is the discussion of the “Latest Advances in X-ray Spectroscopy and Polarimetry” related to the recent launch of IXPE, upcoming X-ray observatories, such as XRISM and Athena, and future proposed missions. These new X-ray missions will enable us to achieve fundamental scientific progresses and discoveries in a wide variety of physical and astrophysical topics, ranging from galactic black holes and neutron stars to quasars and galaxy clusters, from plasma physics to tests of general relativity, from stellar to galaxy evolution, just to name a few.
The venue will be the beautiful renaissance Villa Mondragone, former summer residence for several Popes and now part of the Tor Vergata University of Rome. It is located in the Roman Castles, an area very rich in history, nature, and delicious food.
The workshop website will be continuously updated with the latest information here.
The abstract registration is open until February 28th. Registrations without abstract will be accepted until April 4th.
We inform you that there is a 180 euro workshop fee for all participants with a deadline on April 20th, which includes morning/afternoon coffee breaks and lunches for the three days of the workshop.
In the organizing committee for the Physics Department of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Prof. Francesco Tombesi, Dr. Herve Bourdin.
