I am an observational cosmologist, looking for novel ways to confront theoretical models of the Universe with an ever-growing body of cosmological observations, in particular those of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation and the large-scale galaxy distribution.

Since 2009 I have been a member of the Planck Collaboration and I have contributed to several aspects of the mission, with my main activity being power spectrum and likelihood estimation to constrain cosmological parameters.

Currently, I am also a member of LiteBIRD, a JAXA-led space mission whose main target is the measurement of CMB primordial B-modes for investigating the physics of Cosmic Inflation. However, as it is often the case for space missions, LiteBIRD expected science outcome is quite broader (check out this 155-page long review !).

In this context, my research interests include: physics of the early Universe, cosmic reionization, and component separation techniques to mitigate Galactic foreground contamination in CMB data. Moreover, within the collaboration, I lead a Project Study Group which investigates the cosmological constraints that can be obtained from the cross-correlation of CMB and large-scale structure observables.

I pursue this type of cross-correlation studies also within the ESA Euclid Consortium with the main aim of constraining the physics of the accelerated expansion of the Universe. In particular, I lead the activity for the development of estimators of the late-time integrated Sachs-Wolfe effect.

After holding research positions at IFCA in Spain, Institute of Astronomy and KICC in Cambridge (UK), Space Science Data Center of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), I joined the research staff at the physics department of the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2018 with a research programme funded by the Young Researchers “Rita Levi Montalcini” initiative. Since 2021 I am an Associate Professor in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
